1. charging and discharging


Due to the construction, the capacitor energy is stored directly on the plate, thus making the charging/discharging process faster. The capacitor charge/discharge feature can also be used as a power source. Camera flashes make use of this property of capacitors.


2. Long life span


Capacitors have a long life cycle, nearly 10 to 15 years.


3. Economic efficiency


Capacitors can handle power losses efficiently, making electricity production more economical.


4. Keeping the voltage at the same level


Capacitors are also used to maintain the voltage at a certain level. They can be used to reduce voltage pulsations. When a high voltage is applied to a parallel circuit, the capacitor is charged and, conversely, it discharges as a low voltage is applied. Capacitors are therefore able to handle high voltage applications and are suitable for high frequency use cases.


5. Noise removal


Capacitors help to reduce noise by effectively filtering out unwanted frequencies. In general, since noise in DC is the AC component of high frequencies, it tends to pass through capacitors easily.

A branch circuit is inserted between the input and output to form a ground connection in the capacitor. As a result, only the AC component flows through the capacitor, while the DC component flows through the output circuit.
